Carew Tower is a 49-story, 574ft building completed in 1930 in the heart of downtown Cincinnati, Ohio, overlooking the Ohio River waterfront. It is the second-tallest building in the city and was added to the register of National Historic Landmarks on April 19, 1994. It is located in the same building as the Hilton Netherland Plaza.
Graeter's ice cream is a famous Cincinnati business (and Alicia's favorite ice cream). There are locations around the city, but the closest to the hotel is listed at the location above (4 minute walk). Black Raspberry Chip is the best seller!
The Banks is located along the Cincinnati riverside and is nested between the Bengals and Reds Stadiums. It is a great place to grab a drink, walk along the river, or explore the award-winning Underground Railroad museum. It is a 10 minute walk from the Hilton Netherland Plaza.
Findlay Market is Ohio's oldest continuously operated public market and one of Cincinnati's most cherished institutions, welcoming more than one million visitors each year. It is a great place to explore the weekend farmer's market or grab brunch (we recommend the Taste of Belgium). It is a 25 minute walk or 6 minute drive from the Hilton Netherland Plaza.
This is a great neighborhood to explore local shops, breweries, or restaurants. It is home to historic Findlay market (listed above), the nationally-recognized Rhinegeist brewery, and other notable local businesses. Over-the-Rhine is a 25 minute walk from the Hilton Netherland Plaza or a 5 minute drive.
The Purple People Bridge connects the communities of Newport, Kentucky and Cincinnati, Ohio and is a historic landmark. Today the bridge is the longest connector of its kind in the country, and has linked both Kentucky and Ohio together since 1872. The Purple People Bridge starts (or ends, depending on where you start), at Newport on the Levee. Newport is another popular neighborhood to get a great view of the city, grab a bite to eat, or explore the Newport Aquarium. Newport on the Levee is a 7 minute drive from the Hilton Netherland Plaza, or a 35 minute walk. We would reccomend grabbing a bite at a restaurant (Amador is great!) and taking a walk on the Bridge.
