In their second year of college, Watson's housemates often threw parties every weekend as a part of the Taiwanese American Student Association (TASA). Alice was an active member and was friends with Watson's housemates. At one of the parties, Alice noticed Watson had a computer science textbook on the shelf. Just starting out as a computer science minor, Alice was intrigued and had a full conversation with Watson about what classes he enjoyed and which ones he plans on taking. Seeing that Watson often left the party at 8PM to go to sleep and rumor had it that he was already a 4th year student, Alice thought Watson was much older. A year passes by, Alice was going up to the elevator at the library during finals week and bumped into Watson. Alice was surprised that Watson had not "graduated" yet thinking he must a 5th year by now... She said hi to Watson and he responded with "Sorry, do I know you?". Alice left the elevator mortified, still wondering why Watson hasn't graduated yet. By spring quarter of their third year of college, Alice took a computer science class which required each student to be paired with a team of peers to build a mobile app of their choice. Not knowing Watson was also in the same class, by some faith, they were randomly selected to be on the same team. At that point, Alice found out Watson was actually 6 months younger than her. They started as peers and became close friends. That summer as a lot of their friends left for break, they spent a lot of time together since they both had to stay the summer to work their summer jobs (and because Watson didn't have a car). After a summer of LA trips, beach bonfires, and boba runs, the rest was history.
In Watson's second year of college, his housemates often threw parties every weekend as a part of the Taiwanese American Student Association (TASA). Watson was also part of the Dragon Boat Club, which had intensive practices five days a week, including Saturday and Sunday mornings. Because of this, Watson is frequently exhausted and asleep by 8 PM. Any conversations he had right before were made while delusional from exhaustion, and, coupled with the fact that we had new guests over almost every weekend, it was near impossible for Watson to remember everyone he talked to. Unknowingly, because of this, Watson built a reputation for being "a 4th year student". One thing Watson will point out, though, is that Watson occasionally does pop out of his bedroom after resting. By then, the party had died down, and Alice was nowhere to be seen. Only the heavyweights stuck around, ahem. A year passed, and Watson, being the "exceptionally" studious type, was going up to the elevator at the library during finals week and bumped into Alice. Completely focused on school and grades, Watson did not remember who Alice was, and no small talk was made. Alice helped out with Watson's projects at his computer lab at 1 AM. After Alice brought home a dog while inebriated and forgetting she had work the next day, Watson took care of the dog for the weekend. After a summer of LA trips, beach bonfires, and boba runs, the rest was history.
