Muir Woods National Monument
One of our favorite places to bring visitors! Gorgeous, humbling redwoods. Variety of paths from paved and flat (wheelchair-friendly) to longer canopy trails; suitable for kids. Important: Parking reservations are required in advance if you want to avoid an offsite 25-min (free) shuttle, and that weekend is likely to be extra busy, so try to plan ahead.

Perfect for kids and lifelong learners. Alex dares to say it rivals our beloved Museum of Science in Boston, where we went for our 4th date!
Sausalito
Charming little town on the water with unique shops and tasty food. Great for wandering around by foot or bike.
Sonoma Plaza
Many locals prefer Sonoma over Napa for the wine and cozier feel. If you're planning to stay closer to the wedding vicinity, Sonoma Plaza has plenty to do and eat!
The French Laundry
Iconic Michelin rated restaurant in Napa Valley - $$$$ and VERY difficult to get reservations, but not impossible with advanced planning! We've never been so can't speak to the experience.
RH Yountville Restaurant
Recommended to us for its stunning atmosphere and excellent food, but we have not yet had a chance to try.

Monterey Bay Aquarium
Ranked a top 10 aquarium in the country, and the aquarium on which Finding Dory is based! It's a 2-2.5 hour drive from Novato, with the opportunity to view some of the CA coast along the way.
