Question

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

We have a block at the Hampton Inn in Allen, Tx. If you visit the travel tab on our wedding website, you will find the name, address and discount code you can use to book a room. There are also many other hotels nearby as well such as: The Hilton and Marriott. You can book an Airbnb or VRBO in the Allen, Frisco, McKinney or Richardson area as well.

Are kids invited?

Answer

The answer is yes. We have so many special children in our lives and would love to have them there with us on our special day. However, if you want a "night/weekend" off, we completely understand that too! If you decide to bring your kiddos, please let us know how many of you will be attending in total.

Is there transportation to and from the hotel?

Answer

As of now, we do not have transportation to and from the hotels/ceremony. You can uber to the venue as well.

What's the dress code?

Answer

Sunday best or, cocktail attire. We want you to feel comfortable, so if those shoes are too high or that top button is too tight, let it all hang loose.

Are face masks required?

Answer

Due to Covid-19, I urge you to wear a mask when in close proximity to guests conversing in larger groups. Wearing a facial mask is not mandatory... It is completely your choice and will be accepted by everyone either way you choose!

What will the weather be like this time of the year?

Answer

Summer is just around the corner which means that it is starting to warm up in Texas! During the month of May, it can be anywhere from the mid 70's to the mid 90's. Check the weather in advance so that you can dress accordingly.

Where should guests park? Is parking free?

Answer

There is a parking lot at our venue. When you pull into the driveway, there will be signs and people directing you where to park. Parking is free.

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend that you arrive an hour before the start of the ceremony to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled!

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will take place outside under the pecan trees. It will be shaded. The cocktail hour and reception will take place under a covered pavilion. There is plenty of outdoor space (fenced in) for your kiddos to run around. We will also provide yard games in the grass next to the pavilion.

Will food and drinks be served at the reception? What kind of food?

Answer

After the ceremony while the bridal party is taking pictures, we will provide guests with chips, salsa and queso. For dinner, we will provide guests with a taco bar. Beer and wine will be served at the reception and cocktail hour.

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, the bridal party will be taking pictures nearby for around an hour. Guests can head straight to the reception hall (pavilion) where we will be serving chips and salsa and beverages. There will also be yard games available on the grass next to the pavilion.

May I take a centerpiece home after the wedding?

Answer

We will be providing guests with colorful unique antique glasses to use for the night. At the end of the night, we encourage you to take your glass home with you!

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

Yes, we encourage guests to post pictures to their social media channels, our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #SmittenforSmith #SmithWedding2021 so we can keep track of all of your pictures!

Do you have a gift registry?

Answer

Your presence at our wedding is present enough! However, for friends and family who have expressed an interest, we’ve created an online registry on our wedding website. We are also wanting to go to Ireland for our Honeymoon so we have a Cash fund set up on our wedding website as well.

How do you RSVP?

Answer

After invitations are sent, you can RSVP by mail OR on our wedding website!
