Question

What airport should I fly into?

Answer

The two most convenient airports are: • Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) – Poland's major international airport, often the most convenient option for guests flying from the United States. It is approximately 2.5 hours from Olsztyn by car or train. • Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport (GDN) – a smaller international airport located approximately 2-2.5 hours from Olsztyn by car or train. Both airports offer frequent flights from major international cities.

Question

How do I get from the airport to Olsztyn and the venue?

Answer

You can reach Olsztyn by train or car from both Warsaw and Gdańsk airports. We will also be arranging buses from the airports to Olsztyn to coordinate with common arrival times. You can indicate your interest in bus transportation on the RSVP. From Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW): We recommend taking an Uber or rapid urban rail SKM train (line S2 or S3) directly from the airport to Warszawa Centralna, Warsaw’s major train station. Uber tends to be more affordable than taxi in Poland, but if you choose to take a taxi, make sure to ask the driver the fare prior to departing. There are also trains departing from Warszawa Zachodnia (Warsaw West), however, direct transportation from the airport to Warsaw Central is more convenient. From either station, there are direct trains to Olsztyn Zachodni (Olsztyn West), which is just a 20-minute walk (about 1 mile) or a 7-minute drive to our hotel and reception venue, Hotel Przystań & Spa. From Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport (GDN): Take the PKM (Pomorska Kolej Metropolitalna) train from the airport station, Gdańsk Port Lotniczy, to Gdańsk Wrzeszcz (~18–20 minutes). From Gdansk Wrzeszcz, you can catch a direct train to Olsztyn. Train tickets between Warsaw/Gdańsk and Olsztyn can be purchased easily online at https://www.intercity.pl/en/ (you can show your ticket on your phone; no need to print).

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We have reserved a room block and highly recommend staying at Przystań Hotel & Spa, which is conveniently located directly next to our wedding venue. If you are interested in staying here, please contact the hotel by January 15th. After this date, remaining rooms may not be held and availability cannot be guaranteed! Additional nearby accommodations include Tiffi Boutique Hotel (approximately 180 meters from the venue) and Hotel Omega (a 20-minute walk or 7-minute drive away). For guests who prefer to stay in Old Town Olsztyn (~8-minute drive), there is also a wide selection of hotels and Airbnbs available.

Question

What currency does Poland use?

Answer

Poland uses the Polish złoty (PLN). As a rough guideline, 1 USD ≈ 4 PLN. Most places accept credit cards, but having a small amount of PLN for taxis and cash-only businesses can be helpful. ATMs are widely available and offer the best exchange rates.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Formal attire is kindly requested for the ceremony and reception. This includes suits or tuxedos and elegant dresses.

Question

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer

Information about whether a plus-one is included will be listed in your RSVP tab, so please check there when responding.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please kindly RSVP by February 15th, 2026 on our website.

Question

What should I expect at a Polish wedding?

Answer

Polish weddings are a joyful celebration full of dancing and tradition, so bring your appetite, your energy, and, of course, your dancing shoes! Expect a feast with multiple courses served throughout the night, plenty of dancing, and toasts with vodka—don’t forget to say “Na zdrowie!” (Cheers!) when clinking glasses. The celebrations often continue until 4 or 5 a.m., but you are welcome to stay for as much (or as little) of the night as you wish!

Question

What is the weather like in Olsztyn in late May?

Answer

Expect mild and pleasant temperatures, with daytime highs around 60s-70°F (18–21°C) and cool nights with lows in the 40s-50s. Occasional rain is possible, so bring a light jacket and umbrella.

Question

What is there to do and see in Olsztyn?

Answer

We've prepared a list of attractions in and around Olsztyn in the "To Do" tab on our website!

Question

Do I need to bring a gift?

Answer

Your presence at our wedding, especially as you’re traveling so far to be with us, is the greatest gift we could ask for. For those who would still like to give a gift, a registry is available.
