About Our Relationship

The Lord of the Ring

If you know us, you know we’re a little nerdy. We quote movies way too often, mostly one. The Lord of the Rings has always been our favorite to quote and reference. The story is full of courage, friendship, epic quests, and the kind of love that fights through darkness. We love the story of a fellowship walking side by side through every valley and mountain. And in a small way, that’s what today feels like for us. But as much as we adore hobbits, swords, and second breakfasts, this day isn’t really about fantasy or fandom. It’s about something deeper and far more real. Because while we love stories about kings returning and darkness being defeated, our lives are anchored in the true story — the story of the one true Lord. Our relationship isn’t built on chance or luck or even just feelings. It’s built on God Almighty, and on Christ Jesus, who teaches us how to love selflessly, forgive quickly, serve humbly, and walk faithfully together. So while there may be a few nerdy nods, a little Tolkien inspiration, and maybe even some “adventure” energy in our celebration… at the center of it all is Jesus. He is the true Lord of our story. And today isn’t just the start of our next chapter — it’s the beginning of a lifelong journey with Him, side by side.
