Grace and I met in college, where we occasionally crossed paths our first few years in school before finally becoming friends our junior year. A year later during the fall of our senior year, Grace surprised me with an invitation to be her date to the Chi Omega barn dance, so I actually got to "say yes" first. Now six years later, Grace freely admits the invite was completely impulsive and that she even consulted her friends about trying to replace me. Luckily for me, they encouraged her to give me a chance. It wasn't long after that I knew Grace was the one. As we spent more time together I quickly fell in love with her compassion, generosity, fun-loving spirit and determination. After graduating, we moved to Chicago and Grace spent four years in Lincoln Park, where I proposed in May. After more than five years of dating and a suspiciously well-timed manicure, I suspected Grace saw the proposal coming. But much to her surprise, I proposed by the South Pond in Lincoln Park, and was overcome with joy when she said "yes." We've had so much fun celebrating with family and friends since, and can't wait for our wedding in July. We hope you'll be able to join us!
