Oaxaca International Airport

Oaxaca International Airport is officially known as Aeropuerto Internacional Xoxocotlán This is the closest airport to the city. Puerto Escondido is the beach town airport and is roughly a ~6 hour drive away.

Taxis/ shuttles at the airport

For those of you not planning on renting a car, make sure you have mexican pesos handy to pay for the taxi ride from the airport to downtown, not all cards are accepted. This is about a 15-20 minute ride. There is stall inside the airport. There are 4 different rates: 1. COLECTIVO ZONA 1 - 115 MXN - shared shuttle with other travelers to location in Zone 1 2. COLECTIVO ZONA 2 $180 - shared shuttle with other travelers to location in Zone 2 ** above rates are per person 3. ESPECIAL ZONA 1 - 445 MXN - your own taxi to Zone 1 4. ESPECIAL ZONA 2 - 650 MXN - your own taxi to Zone 2
