This wonderful farmer's market is both a wild ride and a treat for the eyes and the tastebuds. Located in Bastille, this neighborhood has always been labeled as the "East Village" of Paris, with a touch of edginess and vibrant artistic authenticity, making this walk of life Brittney's favorite place in the city. Every vendor here is a local who will always welcome you with such enthusiastic showmanship and a warm smile. Walk down the long aisles of food stands to purchase des fromages (cheeses), de viande (meat), des légumes frais (fresh vegetables), and une baguette. From there, walk to a nearby park to have a delicious picnic as you enjoy the sights.
C'est mon quartier préféré! Montmartre (Mont-Mart) is Alex's favorite neighborhood in all of Paris. While not official nor necessarily accurate, he deems this charming, cobblestone slice of heaven the "West Village" of Paris. This part of town is mostly laid back and relaxed until you get closer to the beautiful Sacré-Cœur, where it becomes more touristy. Fret not! There are still many charming and hidden local cafés, shops, and restaurants throughout the hills of Vincent van Gough's former "quartier". On revient toujours à Montmartre!
This adorable café square is only a 5 minute walk from the Pantheon and des Grands Hommes. Here, take a nice break from your escapades and enjoy un café or even un verre du vin, then bask in the lovely cobblestone streets of Paris.
Well of course one must experience jazz while in Paris! Inside and downstairs is the lively, vibrant, moving jazz bar. While on the smaller side, there are seats, some tables, and of course, a dance floor to dance to your heart's content. There is always a singer and live band to guide and deliver the musical beat that'll make you feel you're gone back in time to the 1920s. And don't forget to grab a drink while you're there!
Les croissants sont partout à Paris. On every corner, every street, every boulangerie. So it may be overwhelming to find the best, most perfect croissant this city has to offer. Well, let us tell you... there are croissants, there is heaven, then there is La Maison d'Isabelle. Look no further for Alex's proclaimed "Best Croissants He Has Ever Had!" Do you want a warm, crumbly, buttery croissant, layered with golden-brown flakes, that melts in your mouth with every bite? Then you have found your place. This boulangerie is right next to le métro, so you can easily grab one, two (or a dozen) and eat it on the go. Just remember to say, "je voudrais trois croissants, s'il vous plaît." One for you and two for us Merci beaucoup!
Le jardin du Luxembourg is one of the most beautiful and largest parks in Paris that showoff France's historical settings. Take a stroll down the long pathways surrounded by uniquely designed trees and open grassy fields. There are a few food and drink stands with fresh jus d'orange. Les toilletes are on the premise but cost one euro to access. Don't worry though, this is how the park keeps the restrooms clean and safe.
