Travel Note

Getting to Santa Teresa

Our wedding wouldn't be on brand for us if it wasn't an adventure! We know this type of trip is not for everyone and we understand if you cannot join us in person to celebrate. Once in Costa Rica, there are 3 main ways to get to Santa Teresa . Each have their Pro's & Con's and will cater to your preferences: 1. Bus/shuttle - Takes the longest = $ 2. Boat Taxi - Quicker than the bus = $$ 3. Puddle Jumper flight - Quickest option = $$$ (check baggage restrictions)

Flight

Airports

There are 2 International Airports to travel into, San Jose (SJO) and Liberia (LIR). San Jose is further away but offers both the puddle jumper flight or water taxi + shuttle to Santa Teresa. The water taxi + shuttle from San Jose is roughly 4.5hrs. Liberia is the closest airport and offers a puddle jumper flight or shuttle which takes roughly 4hrs. There are 2 airlines that offer internal flights from San Jose and Liberia to Cobano (30mins from Santa Teresa). Green Airways (which only flys from San Jose) is the best option for internal flights. *Some puddle jumper flights have baggage weight limits, ensure to check before booking*

Toronto Travel

If you are travelling from Toronto, we recommend you fly into Liberia Airport (LIR) as there are many direct flights, then taking a shuttle from Liberia to Santa Teresa. Our wedding planner can help arrange shuttles, see her contact info in the FAQ section. Shuttle time is ~4 hours. There are some beautiful places along the coast, so you may want to consider spending a night or 2 in Tamarindo or Nosara on your way to Santa Teresa! San Jose Airport (SJO) is also an option, but there are not as many direct flight options from YYZ. The Q&A on this webpage is super helpful:

England Travel

If you are travelling from England, we recommend you fly into San Jose Airport (SJO) as there are direct flights and take a puddle jumper flight to Cobano (CBO). From there, you can arrange an airport shuttle to pick you up and bring you straight to your hotel (~25 minute shuttle). You can also look at flightpaths to Liberia.
