The wedding festivities will begin on Thursday, March 14th with curling. Everyone is welcome to join, even if you won't be curling. As fun as it is to play, it is also a great spectator sport! The formal welcome event/rehearsal dinner will be held on Friday.
The average temperature in March in Banff is 33 degrees and the high/low range is generally 18 - 40 degrees. When choosing our wedding date, we opted for a date after daylight savings time so we could maximize the daylight (and warmth!)
Don't forget we're traveling to Canada so most prices while you're booking travel (and of course while you're there) will be in Canadian Dollars, not US Dollars. The current exchange rate is roughly 1 CAD = 0.76 USD so the USD equivalent price for most things will be approximately 3/4 the CAD price. While most places accept credit card, you may wish to carry some Canadian Dollars for tips and other incidentals. Don't forget to check with your credit card/bank to be sure you're not being charged international fees when using your card in Canada.
We've coordinated with several hotels of differing price points in town to offer discounted rates. We've also coordinated a discounted rate for transportation to and from the Calgary airport. Please check the travel page for more information.
Though the ceremony will be short, please dress warmly and wear your winter coat. A coat check will be provided for the cocktail hour at the Fairmont after the ceremony as well as for the reception at Park. The terrace where the ceremony will be held will be shoveled and does not require snow boots.
