Downtown Apex
"Celebrating its turn-of-the-century railroad heritage, the charming town of Apex features more than 60 commercial and residential structures dating from 1870 to 1940. Take a stroll through the quaint, pedestrian-friendly downtown area to see colorfully restored buildings that house thriving businesses. Downtown Apex is home to bustling boutiques, specialty stores, home decor shops and more. Downtown also serves up restaurants such as the award-winning Anna’s Pizzeria and TapStation (a brewery, bourbon and burgers spot housed in a historic gas station). History buffs can tour historic Hughes and Salem Streets, part of a district recognized by the National Register of Historic Places that includes the circa-1914 Apex Union Depot, an iconic example of late Victorian architecture" ("Apex, N.C.").
State Farmers Market
We love walking around here! Fresh produce, plants, baked goods, canned goods, fresh-squeezed lemonade, coffee, tea, lunch, knick-knacks. The NC Farmers Market has it all. Just when you think you've seen everything, you turn another corner. This is a good place to go to try NC foods or to get a souvenir. #GotToBeNC
Downtown Cary Park
Downtown Cary is about 15 minutes from our venues. You can walk around the park, get dinner, eat ice cream, shop, see a movie, or grab a drink. There's also usually an event going on at the Arts Center! Alec works at The Mayton in downtown Cary.
North Carolina Museum of Art
The NC Museum of Art always has some interesting galleries! They also have a huge park with a lot of walking trails. This is where we took our engagement pictures!
