It is said that Alec was in the waiting room during Connor's birth, waiting and wishing for a best friend to be born. Whether you believe that or not is up to you, but neither Connor nor Alec have any memories where the two were unacquainted, nor the best of friends. Connor has seen all the Alecs Alec has ever been and, for some unknown reason, stuck by his side through all the years.

Sometimes one best friend simply isn't enough. Alec met Rob when their respective parents decided their their toddlers needed a play-date. They became best friends quickly, playing Army Men in the back yard and Super Smash Bros 64 in the basement. During elementary and middle school, Alec forced Connor and Rob to be friends so he didn't have to decide on one just one Best Man for his wedding. Long term thinking!
Anna Lilly

Nani met Anna freshman year of college where they promptly realized that the true battle of academia is not between the humanities and STEM majors, but between students and professors. Thus, Anna began helping Nani understand logical reasoning, while Nani helped proofread Anna papers. Four years later one of them had 2 degrees (Anna) and the other passed their mandatory STEM courses (Nani). Equal feats.

There's nothing that Alec, Ryan, and Nani can't do on a weekend night. Whether they're defeating space heretics, creating an efficient train, slinging spells, running from terrifying monsters, or even climbing up a LOT of stairs, these three have done it all.
