FAQs

The Wedding Website of Nani Wachhaus and Alec Heyer
We addressed most of the common questions here, but we dare you to be creative and text us an uncommon question. (Not 'what is the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow?' That has too many follow up questions.)
Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

It's not everyday that you get to celebrate in a historic mansion! Please dress in formal wear, but also wear something that makes you feel like yourself. Note: the mansion and its gardens feature brickwork and dirt paths. Please wear appropriate footwear and come dressed for early September Maryland weather.

Question

I have a dietary restriction, can I make a special request?

Answer

If you have a dietary concern, please note it in the appropriate slot in your RSVP and our caterers will ensure that you are given a version of the meal that accounts for your restriction. An open bar will be available with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages after the ceremony. Sparkling Cider will also be offered alongside champagne to toast the happy couple.

Question

Can I take my own pictures?

Answer

We ask that you refrain from taking pictures during the ceremony. A professional photographer & videographer have been hired to capture all of the best moments of our wedding, so relax and relish the moments!

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony?

Answer

Yes! While we have arranged for some transportation for guests, you are more than welcome to drive yourself. There are enough parking spaces at Gramercy to accommodate guests. The driveway to the mansion is narrow and winding, so please drive carefully and slowly.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your kids, but we're hosting an adults-only wedding. We hope you enjoy a night off to celebrate with us!

Question

Who wins most of the games you play?

Answer

Alec's been playing video games for at least a decade longer than Nani. Alec has the gift of understanding basic arithmetic. Alec can spell consistently. Nani creatively interprets rules (cheats). The score is roughly 50/50.
