Flight
You can fly into the Florence airport (FLR) and take a 15 minute taxi to the city center. Please note that FLR is a small airport and there are no direct flights from the U.S. to Florence, so this route requires a connecting flight. The flights to FLR will often be a bit more expensive than flying to Pisa or Rome, but it is the simplest way to arrive to Florence.
Flight
Alternatively, you might fly into Rome (FCO), as there are many direct flights from the U.S., and then take a high speed train to the Florence city center. There is a 30 minute train from the Rome Airport to the Rome Termini Train Station, called the Leonardo Express. Tickets for the Leonardo Express can be purchased on the Trenitalia app, or at the airport station. Don't forget to validate tickets before getting on the train! From Rome Termini, you can take the high speed train to Florence (Firenze SMN station). High speed trains take about 90 minutes, and run several times hourly. Tickets can be bought on the Trenitalia app or at the train station. This option is very doable, though more logistically complex, so we suggest preparing/researching this in advance.

Travel Note
Below is a list of recommended hotels at various price points. Ale and Timmy will be staying at The Plaza Hotel Lucchesi. We encourage everyone to consider the hotels we’ve selected, or Airbnbs that are close to the hotels we’ve selected. Please see the note below regarding transportation to and from the wedding venue before making your accommodation decision.

Travel Note
Airbnbs are abundant in Florence and we encourage you to choose the option that is best for you. However, we HIGHLY recommended staying within the San Niccolò neighborhood of Florence. It’s not only our favorite neighborhood, it’s also within walking distance of the bus pickup/drop off spot. Due to the narrowness of Florence’s streets and city traffic laws, buses are only able to pickup and drop off from certain locations, and taxis are not always easily available. As the last bus of the night will return to the drop off spot late, we want you to be within comfortable walking distance to get home!
Shuttle
September 29, 2025 3:15 pm - 4:00 pm
Shuttles will be provided to transport guests from a pickup location, to the wedding venue, and back at the end of the night. The wedding venue is a 15 minute drive from Florence. Large buses are not allowed to enter the city center due to the narrowness of the old streets and city laws. We’ve purposely chosen accommodation options that are very comfortable walking distance to the pickup/drop off area. Our pickup/drop-off location is: “Porto San Niccolò”. Look for the tall brown watch tower, it’s hard to miss! The exact address is: Piazza Giuseppe Poggi, 1, 50125 Firenze FI, Italy. Buses cannot park any longer than 5 minutes in the pickup zone, so please arrive early as the buses will depart promptly at 3:30pm. If you prefer going door-to-door, you are welcome to take a Taxi from your accommodation, but please note that taxis may not be available immediately, especially during peak season in September. If you are staying outside of the city, taxis will not be easily available. So, make sure to order a taxi ahead of time and plan accordingly! Taxis are not easily summoned to the wedding venue, so please book transportation ahead of time if you anticipate wanting to leave before midnight when the first bus will depart. There is plenty of free parking at the wedding venue if you are renting a car and prefer to drive yourself.
