FAQs

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be outside in a grassy field behind the church & the reception will be indoors. The ceremony is "rain or shine". Please bring an umbrella if the forecast calls for rain. In the event of thunderstorms we will move inside to the church sanctuary.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive arrive between 2:00- 2:15 to make sure you can grab a seat & be settled before the ceremony starts at 2:30. There will be a walk from the church parking lot out to the field.

Question

Will there be restrooms at the outdoor ceremony?

Answer

The church will be open for our guests to access the bathrooms and water fountains. Enter the farthest door to the left labeled "Family Entrance". Men's restrooms are straight ahead, women are to the right.

Question

Is there parking at the reception?

Answer

There is not parking directly at the Riviera. There is limited metered parking along the one-way Wrigley drive and then more paid parking along the streets in downtown Lake Geneva. You will need to pay for the meter at one of the kiosks, up until 7:00PM, then parking becomes free. Or for free parking, you can park 1 block in from Main Street around Central Denison (the elementary school Alea went & her dad teaches at) or anywhere in the neighborhoods around that area. NOTE: individuals or carloads may be dropped off directly in front of the Riviera, and then only the driver has to walk back.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

It's a spring wedding, so think spring colors & florals, but wear whatever you are comfortable in. The reception will be outside, so bring a jacket if it's chilly & an umbrella in case there's a May shower ;) Be sure to wear comfortable shoes...there will be lots of walking & dancing!

Question

Why is it important to wear comfortable shoes?

Answer

-The ceremony is in a grassy field with a short walk from the church parking lot. -The ground of the field may be somewhat soft, depending how recently it has rained. -The reception venue does not have a parking lot, so you will have a short walk through downtown to get to the venue. -Our Coffee Hour is at a coffee shop downtown that is a short walk from the venue. -There are lots of things to walk around and see during the coffee hour. -The reception venue is a 5 min walk from the downtown hotels and AirBnBs. -We love to dance and the dance party will be the main focus of the reception. We hope you will join us on the dance floor! Basically this is not the time to wear your stilettos, lol! ;)

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes, we love kids and there will be some children there. However, due to a limited number of people allowed in the venue, we've had to keep our guest list tight. As much as would would love for them to be there, if your child's name is not listed on the invitation/rsvp, we will not be able to accommodate them. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to our reception venue capacity and both of us having large extended families, we are not able to accommodate extra guests that are not listed on your invitation. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Will you be serving alcohol?

Answer

Alcohol has never been an important part of our lives, so we don't want it to be a part of our most important day. There will be children present, & we want to keep it a light, fun & safe evening. We can all have a great time at the dance party without the need of alcohol...plus we'll have lots of other fun drink options at the bar. And don't forget to grab your free drink at Inspired Coffee shop during our coffee hour before the reception! :)

Question

Do you have a gift registry?

Answer

Yes! Please click on our "registry" tab at the top of this website.
