2:30 pm - 3:00 pm
The wedding is at Alea's home church. The ceremony will be held outside in the grassy field, just a short walk from the parking lot. Bring a jacket if it's chilly & an umbrella in case there's a May shower ;) (In the event of thunderstorms, the ceremony will be moved inside to the church sanctuary.) Bathrooms are inside the church...please enter through the farthest door on the left (facing the church) that says "Family Entrance".
3:15 pm - 4:45 pm
Instead of a cocktail hour, we will be having a coffee hour at the exact spot where the couple first met! Enjoy a complimentary small beverage and see where it all began!
The coffee shop is located one block from the lakefront; a short walk from the Riviera where the reception is. (This is a coffee shop run by a nonprofit organization that Alea's church partners with. Inspiration Ministries provides job training for people with disabilities.) The young adult fellowship group from Alea's church meets there twice a month after hours. Travis & Alea are so thankful for the role this place has played in their lives! Bride's signature drink: iced lavender chai! Groom's signature drink: strawberry lemonade! NOTE: The coffee shop will be open to the public during this time, so be sure to state that you are with the Haywood/Carter wedding when ordering. You may enjoy your drinks at the seating inside or outside the shop, on one of the benches down by the lake to admire the view, strolling through library park, while window shopping down Main Street, or take your drink and head straight over to the Riviera to mingle with family & friends.
4:15 pm - 9:00 pm
The Riviera is an iconic Lake Geneva historical building at the heart of the downtown waterfront, right next to the beach Alea grew up going to. Built in 1932, the bottom floor served as a bathhouse for beach goers, while the top floor was a concert & dance hall. Snap a photo in front of the famous water fountain & check out the historical wooden boats out back for more photo opps on the piers!
The reception is upstairs...enter via grand staircase (left or right). To access the elevator, go inside the bottom middle doors, past the restrooms on the right hand side. In the alcove where the elevators are located, you can read some interesting history about the Riviera & see which famous musicians played there! Once the doors open at 3:30, you may go in and hang out with family & friends! There will be no appetizers, but don't worry, you won't have to wait long for dinner! At 4:15 you can start going through the buffet line & dig right in. The grand entrance happens at 5:15pm! Speeches & first dance to follow.
