Tish

4:15 pm - 4:45 pm

Sweeney Barn
9310 Discovery Boulevard, Old Town Manassas, VA 20109

Black-Tie Optional

The tish (Yiddish for table) is a tradition in Jewish weddings where the groom gathers with male guests and attempts to present a lecture on the week's Torah portion, while his friends and family heckle and interrupt him. In our wedding, we are inviting any and all guests who wish to come early to celebrate with Aaron. There will be singing, sharing of stories, words advice for Aaron, words of Torah, and celebratory drinks! From the tish, we will sing and dance with Aaron as he moves into the signing of the ketubah, the Jewish wedding contract. Signing the ketubah is one of the oldest Jewish wedding traditions, dating back two thousand years. The ketubah signing will be a small ceremony with parents, witnesses, and our officiant. The shuttle will depart from Hyatt Place at 3:15pm from the lobby. The second shuttle will depart from Hyatt Place at 4:00pm from the lobby. Running late for the bus? Call the front desk and ask them to let the bus captains know!

The ceremony will start promptly at 5:00. Free parking is available on site. Transportation will be provided from the hotel. Uber and Lyft are also available in the area. Cocktail Hour and Reception

5:30 pm - 10:00 pm

According to biblical law, we are required to rejoice with the bride and groom, and we plan on taking this commandment very seriously! A cocktail hour will be followed by dinner and dancing.
