We’re so excited for you to join us in Kauai! To keep transportation easy and safe, we recommend guests stay at Makai Club Resort, which is very close to our venue and helps avoid drinking & driving after the reception. For larger families who want to stay together, nearby Airbnbs in Princeville or Hanalei are great options, though we cannot officially recommend specific ones. Getting Here: Fly into Lihue Airport (LIH). Travel time from Albuquerque or El Paso is typically 7–10 hours with connections. For the best flight prices, we recommend booking by April 30, 2026, as summer fares are usually lowest 2–4 months before the trip. Car Rentals: Kauai is spread out and Ubers are limited, especially on the North Shore. We suggest renting a car from Hertz, Enterprise, or Discount Hawaii Car Rental. Car rentals usually run $60–$90/day. Airport-to-Princeville Uber rides can cost $90–$130 one way. Budget Planning: Round-trip flights from ABQ or El Paso average $500–$900. Hotels near the venue are typically $275–$400+ per night. Food in Kauai is pricier, so plan for $60–$100/day. Activities and excursions usually range $50–$150 each. Good news: There will be an open bar at the wedding! Weather & What to Wear: August in Kauai is warm, sunny, and breezy, with highs around the mid-80s. Wear light, breathable clothing. Wedding dress code is Coastal Elegant—flowy dresses, linen suits, dressy sandals. Avoid flip-flops or very casual beachwear. Families & Accessibility: Makai Club Resort works well for kids, and car rentals offer car seats. Kauai is stroller-friendly in most resort areas.
