What kind of weather should I pack for/expect?

- Plan for any kind of weather, no matter the time of year. Irish weather is very unpredictable. Layers are your friend, because it can also be sunny. Do not be surprised if you get all of the seasons in one day. - Bring the right shoes, or a variety of shoes...hiking, mud, dress shoes, etc. - October can be wet and windy, but also cool and crisp, with vibrant orange leaves covering the landscape. The average temperature is 50°F.

+5 hours from the East Coast of the US (EST) +8 hours from the West Coast of the US (PST) (e.g., if it's Noon in Baltimore, it's 5pm in Ireland).

What language do they speak in Ireland?

Answer

They speak English primarily (again, thanks to the past English rule). Some still speak English along with Irish, also known as Irish Gaelic or simply Gaelic, which is a Celtic language. You will hear it spoken more along the West Coast of the island. Most posted signs are in both English and Irish.

Is there Uber or Lyft in Ireland?

No, ridesharing services are banned in Ireland. You can use the Uber app, but it will only connect you with licensed taxis, not private drivers. The most popular alternative is the FreeNow app or another app called Bolt. You can also hail licensed taxis on the street, especially in cities, or find them at designated taxi ranks.

Do I need an adapter for electrical plugs?

Yes. Pack a US to "Type G" plug adapter. Also, the U.S. runs on 120 current, and Ireland runs on 230. So even if you use an adapter, you can’t use things like your hairdryer unless they’re “dual voltage.” Many small appliances these days are, but make sure to check yours-It should say somewhere on either the device itself or a tag.
