Jihai and Amy met through the one thing they both love: DANCING. They started off as ballroom dance partners in 2016. Carpooling to dance lessons and practicing together gave them ample opportunity to get to know one another. During Thanksgiving week of 2017, they met up in Japan on separate but overlapped vacations, after which Jihai asked Amy to his company's holiday party to "practice for an upcoming competition." Amy misinterpreted his request as romantic interest, and they started dating shortly thereafter. Both Jihai and Amy can't believe their unbelievable luck in finding the other. Jihai has not found anyone else who thinks that all of his jokes are funny. Amy has not found anyone else who will cook her delicious food every day for free. The way that they complement one another is undeniable–when the couple took a bookbinding class together, the instructor dubbed them an "A+ couple." Over the years, they've expanded their common interests to also include boba, puzzles, hiking, D&D, and video games. Someday, Amy will convince Jihai to take an interest in barefoot shoes as well.
