Formalwear is expected at ceremony and reception events. See schedule for more details.
Guests are encouraged to wear traditional Indian attire for the Hindu ceremony and following reception, though it is not required. For those opting for American or European attire, upscale cocktail or formal dress is appropriate for the level of formality. Guests are welcome to change between the ceremony and reception, though this is not expected. All attire worn for the ceremony is also appropriate for the reception. For the ceremony, women are encouraged to wear sarees. For those unfamiliar with draping, assistance will be available on-site throughout the day. Pre-draped sarees are also a convenient option. All saree blouses will require tailoring. For men, kurta sets are recommended. For both men and women, fabric choice can help guide formality. Cotton and linen are typically reserved for casual wear, while silk, chiffon, georgette, satin, organza and synthetic blends are more formal and festive. For the reception, guests have additional flexibility. Attire tends to be more varied, with women wearing sarees or simple lehengas, and men wearing American or European-style suits, jodhpuri or bandhgala suits, or kurta sets (with or without a bundi jacket). Heavily embellished or bridal-style lehengas are typically reserved for the bride and immediate family. Red is the traditional bridal color, and should be avoided for the morning ceremony. Indian attire is widely available online and in boutiques in major cities. If possible, we recommend shopping in person, as sizing can vary. Guests arriving early may also choose to shop locally in Jaipur. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
We kindly request that ladies avoid wearing white or similar bridal shades for the Christian ceremony and red for the Hindu ceremony.
Children are welcome to attend if they are listed on the invitation.
