This is where Adrienne and Kinson had their first date - so it's pretty special! Grab your meal and then if the weather is right, take it across the street to First Ward Park and eat outdoors.
If you've got little ones in tow and want to show them a library made just for them, pair this activity with a meal or snack at 7th Street Public Market.
A personal fave for Kinson and I...their permanent exhibit, Cotton fields to Skyscrapers is a must see.
This art + culture center/museum is named after the first black mayor of the city of Charlotte, Harvey Gantt.
Great spot for foodies! Or for groups where everyone wants something different.
One of the best parks Charlotte has to offer. Great for those with kids but also just for a walk or bike ride. You can also catch the Sugar Creek Greenway from here.
Charlotte's oldest shopping center, recently renovated but still has a collection of Charlotte's best shops and eateries - including Suarez Bakery! (One of Adrienne's favorites - try the coconut cake!)
A very cool brewery with lots of outdoor space!
Lots of small ball action at this spot - foosball, pin ball, duck pin, ping pong and bocce ball, oh my! Good libations too ;)
If you're in from out of town and a lover of antiques, we're offering you caution now! You may want to buy more than you're able to travel back with - believe us, we've seen it happen :)
Great hiking/mountain biking trails, live music, ropes courses and of course, white water rafting :)
Fun for everyone! Pack a picnic and watch the planes take off/land - there are some times of day when plane traffic is high and make it really fun to see so many take offs!
Even if you have never played golf before, you can still have some good fun hitting some balls!
This garden offers reciprocity so if you happen to be a member of another botanical garden, you should be able to get free entrance!
Excellent hiking trails! Best to go before 10:00 am as the trails can get a little crowded.
Located inside Latta Nature Preserve, a 1,500 acre nature preserve, so you could make a half or even full day at the nature preserve, but for the birds of prey enthusiasts, the Raptor Center is a great stop.
This is a drive through zoo - perfect activity for families but be sure to go EARLY because the line gets long. This can be a couple hour activity and you're in your car the entire time, but lots of fun!
One of the most naturally beautiful zoos! You can do this activity in half a day :)
If you'll be staying several days, we encourage you to take a day trip or even overnight trip in Asheville. One possible stop is the Biltmore Estate which could be a full day activity with the tour of the house, as well as the gardens and grounds.
If you're here for a couple days and want to get in some of the North Carolina outdoors, this is a popular attraction for visitors. Its about a 2.5 hour drive so may be a day trip :)
Grandad’s has several family fun activities like a cow train, corn maze, apple cannon, and lots of yummy apple treats!
