Mother of the Bride
Suzana is an extraordinary mom whose sense of adventure and joy makes every moment more interesting. One of Adriana’s favorite memories is skiing with her, Suzana will lovingly complain the whole way down a steep run, only to ask if they should do it again once they reach the bottom. Throughout Adriana’s life, she has nurtured her curiosity and insane pursuits, from enrolling her in music programs that led to piano competitions around the world to patiently quizzing her on behavioral biology the day before the MCAT. Suzana's dedication pours into each person that she meets. She has supported her daughters through every step with love, honesty, and unwavering faith, helping shape Adriana into the person she is today.
Mother of the Groom
Paloma has always been Hector’s confidant, someone he can share anything with or simply wander beside through the little “hills” he discovers around Chicago. Her kindness and care have shaped him in countless ways. She is endlessly nurturing, always ready with a chocolate milkshake, a bowl of carne en su jugo, or simply the comfort of her company. Paloma’s warmth and gentle presence have been a steady, loving foundation in Hector’s life, and her love continues to guide and ground him every day.
Father of the Groom
Miguel is the person you want in your corner for anything life brings, whether something needs fixing or a challenging adventure is calling. He’ll happily watch a hundred YouTube videos to figure out how to repair an air conditioner, a shower head, or one of Hector’s many car projects, determined to get it right for the people he loves. Miguel meets every challenge with enthusiasm, a little hesitation for humor’s sake, and then wholehearted commitment, whether that means joining a mountain hike instead of turning back or learning to ski at 50 and continuing even after breaking a finger. He brings unwavering dedication, warmth, and heart to every moment, and we are grateful for the love and joy he carries into our lives.
Maid of Honor
If you know us, you know that I could write an essay to describe Lorena. She has been my best friend since the day she was born, as a puppy, the one who steadies me, listens to every tiny crisis, and fills my life with a love I can’t picture my world without.

I met Amanda in our college calculus class, where we formed an instant, effortless bond, one that meant more to me than I ever expected, and arrived when I needed it most. She has become one of my closest friends, with a contagious laugh and a gift for making everyone feel welcomed and heard. I am endlessly grateful to have her in my life. Fun fact: we share the same birthday, almost to the minute (accounting for timezones)!

I met Enna in a college bioinformatics class, and her kindness, her wholehearted championing of others, and the joy of starting our New York chapter side by side have made her one of the greatest gifts in my life. Every workout or bakery adventure with her leaves me with a satisfied tummy, an incredibly happy heart, and something new learned! She’s an incredible researcher, preparing to change the world, an even more impressive human, and a wholeheartedly dedicated supporter of everyone.

Joy and I met during our PhDs, forged together by painful environment debugging sessions. She’s since become a truly irreplaceable friend, brilliant, kind, and fast enough to rank among NYC’s top women marathoners! She’ll make you laugh through anything, never misses her 12pm lunch, and somehow still ends up on the 5pm news as the medical student shaping the future of artificial intelligence in healthcare.

Nashali and I met through Hector and Carlitos, and what started as small conversations about college majors and future plans at Baez family parties blossomed into a deep friendship; she’s become my confidant, the person I call for help (not just because she’s a therapist!), and someone I can laugh with, cry with, and happily eat ramen and pizza with all in the same day.
