Adriana and Hector’s friendship began in college, when they met during their freshman year in 2014 at Boston University’s Rich Hall. From the start, they bonded over their shared excitement for travel, adventure, The Strokes, and fast cars, a true reflection of their joie de vivre, which shone even on their first official date in Chicago. Their love story began after a year of chance encounters in the dining hall and crossings over the BU Bridge, slowly turning friendship into something much bigger. Having always been dog lovers, they adopted Genny shortly after they began dating, when she was just a few months old. A few years later, they adopted her sister, Silk, a Spanish greyhound from Spain. As believers that dogs are man's best friend, they look forward to adopting more dogs in the future, whether that be Adriana's favorite breed, a Dalmatian, or one of Hector's more unique choices, a Rottweiler, their love of animals will always hold true. Over the past decade, their story has carried them down winding roads, from the snowy, great white north of the Québec wilderness to the beautiful, arid landscapes of Aruba; across oceans, from the lush ecosystems of Kauai to the old-world charm of Spain. Though their world will evolve, as they grow older together, their love of exploration will always endure. The story would not be complete without honoring the families who have been the steady foundation of their lives, before their paths crossed and ever since. The love and strength they’ve received are gifts Adriana and Hector hope to carry forward, weaving that same importance of family into the home they one day create together. Hector’s proposal to Adriana in Paris was the perfect culmination of ten beautiful years, a love story still blossoming with each passing day. We cannot wait to celebrate with you in the charming, historic city of Split, Croatia, Adriana’s beloved homeland, to celebrate the joy, the journey, and the future we are building together.
