Make a weekend of it

There are some lovely historic market towns in the area - we particularly liked Frome, which has lots of lovely independent shops and restaurants. For the more active amongst you, Charmouth Beach is a relatively short drive away, and is one of the best places in the UK to go fossil hunting. Or you could go to Exmoor National Park for some beautiful scenery! If you fancied some history or culture instead, Dunster Castle makes a lovely day trip, with lovely gardens and a working mill. Bath is also a short drive away with it's famous Regency architecture (and an excellent Spa!). It also has some lovely shops, including several great independent bookshops - we'd particularly recommend Mr B's Emporium as a great place to go for new recommendations! http://www.somerset-life.co.uk/out-about/places/8-charming-market-towns-you-need-to-visit-in-somerset-1-5344265 Check out the above email address for further ideas. You're taking the Friday off so may as well make a weekend of it!
