FAQs

Question

When will the wedding start?

Answer

We request that everyone arrive as close to noon as possible. The wedding vows are scheduled for 12:30. The bar opens at noon.

Question

When does the reception start?

Answer

After Kati and Adam are pronounced man and wife, guests will be asked to adjourn to the back yard bar to enjoy a cold drink, beer, wine, or our signature cocktail: a grapefruit martini (inspired by the old San Ysidro Ranch recipe and Janna Kiraly). The wedding party will remain in the front yard to take some wedding pictures.

Question

Will food be provided?

Answer

During the post wedding happy hour, a charcuterie board created by Stephenie Hammitt will be provided by the backyard bar. Lunch will be provided soon thereafter in the front yard after the tables are all set up. The caterer is Lucca Wood Fired Pizza utilizing their vintage 1947 Dodge food truck!

Question

Will there be music and dancing?

Answer

Ted Pallad will keep the music popping during happy hour and lunch. After lunch we will hit the dance floor for Kati and Adam’s first dance to a special performance by Carson Pallad. Then, get ready to get down to the incredible music of Spencer the Gardner with the Wedding Band.

Question

When will the event come to a close?

Answer

We will close it all down at sunset … approximately 6:30 PM. Stay tuned for info about an after party!

Question

How do you make your signature cocktail?

Answer

Janna Kiraly is the master mixologist of the Kiraly clan. She has improved the original San Ysidro Ranch Grapefruit Martini. 3 shots vodka 2 shots freshly squeezed grapefruit juice 1/2 shot freshly squeezed lemon Juice 1.5 shots St. Jermain Elderflower Keep in mind, the key is to create a delicate balance depending upon the sweetness or tartness of the fresh grapefruit juice. The elderflower brings sweetness to the drink without sugar. You should taste the cocktail to insure you achieve optimum balance and adjust as needed.

Question

Where should I stay for the wedding?

Answer

There are many options for places to stay in Santa Barbara. Unfortunately, none of them are inexpensive. Rooms can be as low as $150 per night weekdays to thousands of dollars per night in the famous luxury hotels. Be sure to check Trip Advisor and Trivago for great deals. We have reached out to a half dozen properties with an easy commute to the wedding & reception. We narrowed it to two options, reserved at least 10 rooms at each property, and discounted rates. You can see more about the Hotel Milo and the Lemon Tree Inn in the preferred hotels tab. Book early! Santa Barbara fills up fast!

Question

What is the south bound velocity of a laden swallow?

Answer

I don’t know. Is it an African or European swallow?

Question

What do I need?

Answer

All you need is LOVE!

Question

How can I help Spencer find a kidney?

Answer

Spencer needs a kidney, can you help? Of the 123,000 Americans currently on the waiting list for a lifesaving organ transplant, more than 101,000 need a kidney - but only 17,000 people receive one each year (according to the National Kidney Foundation). Kidneys are one of the few organs that can come from living donors as well as deceased donations. Here is the UCLA donor information link: https://www.uclahealth.org/transplants/kidney/how-to-become-a-kidney-donor For more information on how you can help, please email Liz Barnitz (Spencer’s sister) at lizbarnitz@gmail.com
