A Special Message from the Bride & Groom

Dearest Family & Friends, We are excited and blessed to have the honor of celebrating our wedding with the people who mean the most to us: you. As you might gather from our site, we are not taking a traditional route with our wedding, which means that we are not implementing some of the usual customs or etiquette a typical wedding may have. We wanted to make sure that our love was celebrated in a way that is that is most authentic and true to us. We hope that you can join us with an open heart and mind while we create our own fun traditions and memories with you! All the Love, Kristen & Aaron

How We Met

January 23, 2019 // Best Friends to Lovers

Kristen and Aaron met at the San Diego State University's art building at roughly 2:50pm. It was the first day back from winter break, which meant all new classes with groups of new people to get to know for a semester. Aaron noticed that Kristen was wearing a comic book t-shirt that had Jesus on it with a bunch of heroes, and the quote bubble "And that's how I saved the world." Kristen wore it that day, hoping she would make some friends with the same humor. Little did she know that she would find her lifetime partner instead. Aaron decided he needed to talk to this girl, and once the conversation started, it never stopped. Through post-class hangouts, several group projects, and a friendship that felt safe and secure, they came to realize that their friendship was so much deeper than they thought.

A Parent's Blessing

The Story of the Cow

Early on in the relationship, Kristen and Aaron knew they were going to marry each other, and so Kristen asked her parents what would be required of Aaron if he were to talk to them about marrying her. Jokingly, her dad replied, "He has to give me a cow." This was in reference to ye olde Filipino customs, where a dowry would be given to the parents of the bride in exchange for her hand in marriage. Kristen thought this was hilarious. She relayed the information to Aaron and told him it would actually be really cute to get them a toy cow whenever he decided it was time to talk to them. Aaron ran with it. When he was ready to propose, he bought a cute little stuffed cow and a dozen donuts, and presented both to the parents of the bride, Tito & Christy, and her brother/Man of Honor, Kristian Zedric. He received their blessing with enthusiasm!
