If you're staying at the Copperleaf or Red Lion, you're already there! College Avenue is filled with local restaurants and bars that we frequent often. Some of our favorite nicer spots include: Author's Kitchen & Bar, Fress, Rye, and Katsu-ya. Other places we order a lot from are: Bowl 91, Sushi Lover, and Mai's Deli! Our favorite bars are The Wooden Nickel (1/2 prices apps from 10-1!) and Mondo! Wine Bar, but we HAVE to recommend you go to Cleo's for a Dirty Snowball - it's an Appleton staple. Need some coffee in the morning? We recommend Copper Rock Coffee Company just up the block from the hotels! Other cool places are Player 2 - a bar full of old school arcade games, Gibson Music Hall - live music every Wednesday-Saturday nights, and the Houdini Museum - yes, THAT Houdini. AND all the shops on the Ave are adorable and locally owned! Can you tell we love Downtown Appleton?
A short (10 minute) Uber ride out of the heart of Appleton, you'll find Simon's for all your cheese needs and more! There is so much to find here other than cheeses - meats, wines, pickled foods, souvenirs, etc. Definitely make the trip here to bring a part of Wisconsin home with you.
Definitely a must see for any football loving fans! About a 30 minute drive from Appleton, so you will need a car. However, you can make a day out of it with some of our other suggestions!
Check out the new Titletown District right across from Lambeau Field. We recommend going to Hinterland Restaurant & Brewery and visiting their beer hall to enjoy some nice craft beers and delicious food. We also recommend going to The Turn if you're looking for more interactive activity. Run by Topgolf, you are able to virtually play their traditional golf target game, but also things like dodgeball, hockey, baseball, etc. They also have food & drinks. We went here for our anniversary and loved it!
This is for those who love aviation. You can find a lot of history here at EAA in Oshkosh, as well as many retired aircrafts and famous replicas.
This one is for the shopaholics. If you're willing to make the 30 minute drive to Oshkosh, you can find a lot of great stores here!
