In late August, Abby and Jonathan matched on Hinge. Abby was new to her job in Riverside and working remotely while Jonathan had just recovered from his COVID infection. They connected over their love for food, travel, and culture. They met over Zoom for their first virtual date, where Jonathan planned an interactive map game and impressed Abby with his knowledge of geography! After several weeks of online chatting, they met in-person in Riverside and ordered Impossible burgers at the Food Lab. They had a picnic in the park followed by a stroll around the park and a return to the Food Lab for ice cream and foosball. Abby impressed Jonathan with her mad skills and fiery competitiveness. Jonathan claims he let her almost win... Several dates later, Jonathan asked Abby to be his girlfriend, and the two have grown together ever since. Check out the "Our Story" tab to recap our journey together.
Over the next two years, many events unfolded. Jonathan moved to Memphis to work at a clinic and then matched into Family Medicine Residency at Saint Louis University in March of 2022. Through it all, the couple leaned on each other and on God and had faith that the distance would only make the relationship stronger. With the good news of matching, Jonathan's parents (Malathi and Daniel) took Jonathan and Abby to Maui to celebrate! Abby hoped Jonathan would pop the question... they had been discussing the prospect of marriage and had even been looking at rings together. Sure enough, Jonathan came through and asked for her hand near a cliff in front of a gorgeous sunset!
Jonathan and Abigail are delighted to tie the knot at the Central Coast, halfway between each of their homes, San Jose and the Central Valley. As they were dating, the couple had the opportunity to spend many a weekend exploring this beautiful area while staying at the beach house in Cayucos. The two cannot wait to celebrate their love and their union in the presence of family and friends!
