Our Story
On a late spring day of 2016 at the University of Maryland, Abigail's beauty and ability to throw a flat disc with skill and precision caught the eye of young Jerry. As fate would have it, Jerry and Abigail continued to run into each other at the very romantic South Campus Dining Hall until Jerry worked up the confidence to ask Abigail to Ultimate Frisbee formal. Abigail said yes! And they made their way to the Frisbee Haus to kindle their relationship with Andre’s Champagne and black lights. During Spring 2017, our love grew. Our first challenge was quickly approaching as we chose separate semesters to study abroad. Regretfully, we split up and we weren’t sure what our future would hold.
Thankfully, we came to our senses and realized we still had lots of love for each other. Senior year included date nights, cooking projects, hiking trips, and lots of communicating.
As they graduated college, Abigail and Jerry knew their love could conquer any challenge ahead. Abigail prepared to spend 2020 in MT with frequent trips between Missoula and D.C. what could go wrong?
As the world screeched to a halt, we were separated for 5 months. We talked every day, and impatiently waited for Jerry to visit Abigail. After a tough year, we decided to move in together in D.C.
Living together in D.C., we shared our first apartment and realized our love of hosting dinner parties and game nights. We spent many afternoons biking around the monuments and enjoying daffodils.
Jerry was accepted to a PhD program at CU, and we moved to Boulder in 2022! After a Jerry-engineered practice pack in the corner of our beloved W st. apartment, we were ready for the POD.
In Boulder, we enjoyed making new friends and exploring new ski mountains. After a year of loving living together, it was time for Abigail to continue her education as well.
In 2023, we drove to the east coast to visit Jerry’s Maine family and see lots of loved ones. Unfortunately, a tick loved Jerry a little too much and landed him in the ER 1 week before Abigail moved.
We prepared for another stint of long-distance as Abigail moved to Utah to take a lab tech job at Utah State. We continued to discuss our future and explore Utah’s beautiful scenery.
Finally, on March 15, 2024, we got engaged! We had a wonderful weekend in Boulder celebrating with CO friends & family. We are soo ready to never leave each other’s sides again!
Our families flew out to Boulder to celebrate our engagement!!!
The past eight years have been so full of love and we are so excited to celebrate with all of you in June!
