The Trailing of the Sheep Festival is a long-time Sun Valley tradition, and will be taking place the weekend of our wedding. Check out the website for event info, including the Big Sheep Parade through Ketchum at Noon on Sunday (and keep that in mind if you are trying to get to the airport around then!).
Sun Valley Golf Course is an amazing public course, and all 27 holes and the putting green are open through our wedding weekend. Call for tee times!
Bald Mountain: Starting at River Run Lodge and heading to the right, you can wind your way up Bald Mountain. The gondola doesn't run this time of year, so be prepared to hike back down! You can stop at the Scenic Overlook, go to the Roundhouse turnaround, or the top of Baldy. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/idaho/scenic-overlook-via-bald-mountain-trail Adam's Gulch Area: Great for hiking and mountain biking! https://www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/us/idaho/adams-gulch-area-trails?mobileMap=false&ref=sidebar-static-map Baker Lake: A favorite that Dillon and Abigail did (in the snow!) the first time Dillon brought Abigail to Sun Valley. This one is kid friendly and not too aggressive. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/idaho/baker-lake-trail Norton Lakes: Another great one in the area, with beautiful views: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/idaho/norton-lakes Other options here: https://www.alltrails.com/us/idaho/ketchum
While Hyndman Peak is a 12,000 foot, very long day hike, the hike is beautiful and you could go a few hours out and back with incredible views of the pioneers. The trailhead is out East Fork road, the same road that leads to Friday night's welcome party at Coleman and Jackie's house. The views are STUNNING!
Silver Creek is a great place to go if you want to fly fish during your trip. Their guides are amazing, and the store in Ketchum is fun to check out! Lost River Outfitters, right across the street, is also a great place to book fishing guides and check out gear.
Sun Valley has an amazing bike path that runs along the highway, and has incredible mountain biking options. You can rent bikes at Pete Lane's Mountain Sports or at Sturtevants, both in town in Ketchum.
There are so many amazing restaurants in Ketchum! A few of our favorites include Cookbook, The Covey, Enoteca, Vintage, Rickshaw, Grumpy's for burgers and beers, and Lefty's Bar & Grill for casual drinks.
Hailey, between Ketchum and our wedding venue in Bellevue, has some great restaurants as well. We highly recommend CK's Real Food (our favorite!), Zou 75, Tundra, and Powerhouse.
