We met at Butler University in 2005. In classy fashion, Bryce "friended" Alex on Facebook and messaged her saying "Hey, you look really good looking." (Yes, it's literally what he wrote) From there, we met and became friends even going to fraternity/sorority dances together. We were friends for 10 years before we decided to take a chance and start dating in late 2015 when Alex flew back to visit Bryce in Indianapolis. After doing long distance for two years, Bryce moved back to San Diego in 2017 to start his journey together with Alex (and Carmelle). Now we are A,B and C!

We took our dog, Carmelle, and Alex's mom's dog for their normal daily walk in sunny San Diego. That day we decided to go a little further to Balboa Park. We sat there looking out over downtown San Diego for a minute and were discussing our life together when Bryce got down on one knee to propose. Alex was so excited (and surprised) she yelled "OH MY GOSH!" and said "YES! Right now!?" because she didn't know if he was ever going to actually propose since he had the ring for many months. He was just waiting for the right time. The next week we flew to Charleston, SC to visit our good friend Becky. Bryce contemplated doing something elaborate there, but instead opted for a proposal that was more "us". We love the neighborhood we live in, North Park, and taking Carmelle for a walk. It was a perfect early sunny summer day and presented a great opportunity to seize the moment.
