Abby was living in Morgantown, WV, when she matched with Cory on Bumble in February 2020. After some lengthy text conversations about brutalist architecture and discovering a mutual interest in the band Vulfpeck, their first date consisted of attending a St. Patrick's Day event together at a bar in Pittsburgh's Strip District on Saturday, March 14 — the weekend before the entire country shut down over the COVID-19 pandemic. Both Abby and Cory's jobs became fully remote the following week and their daily routines changed dramatically, but they traded weekends back and forth between Pittsburgh and Morgantown for over a year. In May 2021, Abby left West Virginia and made the move to Pittsburgh's Mt. Lebanon neighborhood. A year later, she moved into an apartment in Edgewood that was conveniently four minutes from Cory. Cory proposed on New Year's Eve 2022 while they were visiting his parents in Florida for the holiday. Abby had no clue and only thought a steak dinner and a walk on Siesta Key Beach was in the cards for the evening. They moved in together the following April, along with Abby's two cats Joan and Pixie and Cory's dog Athena. They currently live in Pittsburgh's Brentwood neighborhood and spend their weekends checking out new coffee shops, watching reruns of The Office and Bob's Burgers, and trying to outdo each other in coming up with the most groan-worthy puns.
