FAQFAQ

What do we pack? What do we pack?

Other than wedding clothes for the weekend you might want

• Toiletries • Bathing suit • Comfortable shoes • Active wear • A mirror (limited mirrors in cabins) • A Blowdryer/Curler/Straightener • Any additional snacks and drinks (alcoholic and non) you may want for the weekend.

Can we bring our own alcohol? Can we bring our own alcohol?

We will be providing beverages for the main events.

However, camp is BYOB—so all are welcome to store any drinks (alcoholic and non) and snacks you want in your cabin as well!

What can I expect for weather? What can I expect for weather?

Early September has pleasantly warm days and cool nights!

We request you wear comfortable, but formal/cocktail attire for the wedding. Weather permitting, the ceremony will take place on grass, so beware of stiletto or skinny heels. The reception will be inside.

Are Kids allowed?Are Kids allowed?

Over the age of six, yes!

Camp Mataponi keeps the counselors on staff to help with weddings, but they are not liable to watch kids over campers age.. starting at six. We will have an adult only reception and the kids will go to the gymnastic center to play with counselor supervision.

What is the sleeping setup? What is the sleeping setup?

There are 3 different types:

Bunkhouses (cabins with bunk beds), 1 or 2 Room Cabins. Bunkhouses: Bunkbeds can come down and be pushed together to form one double bed. Each bunkhouse has bathrooms, showers, and a porch. Although the bunkhouses fit 12-20 people in some cabins we will aim for 4-6 people in each, and we will prioritize keeping plus ones and friends together. • 2-Room Cabins: A few cabins have 2 bedrooms each with a full size or queen bed and a shared bathroom. • 1-Room Cabins: Some cabins are private, with a double bed, bathroom, shower, and a porch. If cabins at the camp are not your thing, no worries! Within the travel/stay tab you'll find other accommodations. Important to note, we will not have transportation to the other hotels so it would make the most sense to bring/rent a car if you choose to stay elsewhere (getting Ubers can be difficult while out at the lake). Parking is easy once on the property. In true Camp fashion, you will find your assigned cabin the day you arrive!
