The day Jack and Abby met was the most important and anticipated day in Jack's life. Not because he had unknowingly met his future wife, but because the day they met was Jack's 21st birthday. Lucky for him, he didn't do anything to embarrass himself that night and lucky for her, their first time meeting was just a few weeks after he had cut off his mullet. Not sure we would all be here if he had that when they met. Jack and Abby had lots of mutual friends but had never crossed paths before because Abby had just transferred to the University of Kansas after spending the first two years of college at that-other-school-that-must-not-be-named. Once they met, their paths seemed to cross often and they slowly started spending more time together. Mostly at The Hawk with friends, but occasionally they would stumble to dinner just the two of them after a Friday afternoon at Free Beer. After about a year of deciding whether they liked each other or not, there was a defining moment in their relationship. In the Fall of their senior year, they and 500 of their closest KU classmates took a trip to Las Vegas, Nevada where Abby and Jack stayed at the Blackjack table until 7 AM (and somehow came away with money, I might add). After that there was no denying it - they definitely liked each other. 2 months later they were "officially" dating and were officially inseparable. After college they both moved back to Kansas City and started "real life" together. 9 months later, COVID hit and Abby moved into a one-bedroom apartment just down the street from where Jack was living. She decided she needed a companion for the nights Jack wasn't keeping her company, so she adopted Milo and their little family began. About 2 years after that, they decided to take their relationship to the next level and Abby and Milo moved into Jack's house. In January 2025, while in San Diego celebrating Abby's birthday, Jack popped the question and gave them another thing to celebrate on their trip. They had so much fun celebrating that they knew they had to bring the celebration back, but this time invite all of their favorite people to join them 😊
