Gerard and Abby met in high school through mutual friends when Abby was a Freshman and Gerard was a Junior at O'Hara High School. O'Hara was a very small school, and both Abby and Gerard were athletes -- Abby played softball and Gerard played football. The football team would practice behind the softball field so they would have occasional run-ins, however, they were only acquaintances in high school. Abby was a senior in nursing school and Gerard was in his 2nd year of physical therapy school when the two reconnected in the Fall of 2020 and started dating. The two made things "official" and became boyfriend and girlfriend on January 7th, 2021. The rest is history and 3 years later to the date they will be getting married on a beach in Montego Bay!
