Abbie & Andrew

Wedding Party

You can't fit everyone you love into a wedding party without it starting to look like a co-ed football team, but we couldn't imagine walking down the aisle without these friends and family members there with us.

William Cullum

Man of Honor

It's hard to remember exactly when William and Abbie first met (because they were four), but Abbie has a vague memory of being afraid of William and hiding behind her mom's skirt when he and his dad came to their front door to welcome them to the neighborhood. Their friendship really took off a few years later with the formation of their "club" (in hindsight, a collection of trash they curated in a corner of Abbie's backyard), continued with their teenage "vandalization" of their neighbors' Christmas decorations (a gross mischaracterization/libel written in their neighborhood watch newsletter), and saw them through college (where they each visited the other annually in VA and SC, respectively) and the assemblage of their lives in New York.

Jerry Sauvigne

Best Man

Jerry and Andrew met as two shy and awkward freshmen on their first day at Chaminade High School. They just happened to sit at the same lunch table and quickly became friends. Long nights of video games (where they built competing Navies as Britain vs France) eventually morphed into long nights out in NYC (where they built competing livers). After years of trips to Atlantic City, Jerry teaching Andrew to ski (overlooking an orthopedic incident), Yankee games, and Billy Joel/Paul McCartney concerts, Andrew is very excited to have one of his oldest friends stand with him on his wedding day as his Best Man.

Christie McHugh

Maid of Honor

Christie and Abbie were seat-mates on their Study Abroad flight from Dulles to Paris in early 2010, and quickly became friends—bonding first over Christie's then-fear of international flight, and later over their horrible assigned host families. After pulling off dramatic escapes from their initial living situations, they moved in together with the same wonderful French family and spent the next five months bingeing on baguettes, camembert, Kinder Bueno bars and Speculoos (a.k.a. having the time of their lives). They became even closer after college, where they supported each other through all the unfortunate dates, jobs, and roommates their 20s lobbed at them. They can be found together every Monday night at 8pm for the Bachelor(ette).

Fred Mazzei

Groomsman

Fred and Andrew become brothers when Fred married Andrew's sister Jennifer in 2010. When it came time for Andrew to learn how to drive on a highway at the tender age of 22, he knew he could count on Fred to guide the way. No matter how tired he may be after working a night shift, Fred can always be counted on to lend a helping hand or attend any party, concert, or dinner. Fred and Andrew can frequently be found together grilling, drinking Margaritas by the pool in Marco Island, or stoking the fire in their family's cabin upstate. Aficionados of homemade wine, Fred and Andrew never say no to a good vintage.

Jennifer Mazzei

Bridesmaid

As the first member of Andrew's family that Abbie met, Abbie immediately both liked and feared Jennifer. Through the ensuing years, these soon-to-be sisters-in-law got to know each other and bonded at the steady stream of family parties generously organized by Janet. When, in early 2018, Andrew made it known that it was time for Abbie to start researching engagement rings, Jennifer lent her expertise to the project, playing double-agent (though really on Abbie's side) to ensure Abbie's ring was one she'd love. Abbie couldn't be more thrilled to gain a sister, friend, and ally in Jennifer.

Austin McCoy

Groomsman

Austin and Andrew first met during a McCoy family trip to New York City in 2016. After spending several days traveling around NYC (including many Italian restaurants, museums, and Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree viewings) they quickly developed a friendship that continues to grow. They both share a dream of finally locating the best pizzeria in New York City, no matter how many slices it takes. After 31 years of Andrew begging his mom for a younger brother, Andrew will finally get his wish on July 20, 2019!

Mallory Cecil

Bridesmaid

It's unclear exactly when Abbie and Mallory met, but even as a baby, Abbie was probably jealous of how cute Mallory was and that their grandparents' attention had been divided yet again. They're just 19 months apart in age, and Mally has always felt more like a sister to Abbie than a first cousin. As kids, they took turns bossing each other around, but much to both their credit, they've parlayed the adult version of that impulse into something purely positive: they always give each other incredibly thoughtful and productive (though not always solicited) advice and support.

Christopher Conterelli

Groomsman

As the two youngest boys of a large Italian family, Andrew and Christopher learned to stick together to get by. Due to their young age and short stature, they were made to sit together at the end of the long Christmas Eve dinner table—where second and third helpings were plentiful. Always fashionably dressed, Chris served as an inspiration for the ever-t-shirt-and-jeans-clad Andrew. Aside from being one of the most easy-going people Andrew knows, Chris is also one of the funniest. They can frequently be found exchanging witty banter at family parties.

Olivia Cecil

Bridesmaid

As the youngest (and sweetest) Cecil girl cousin, Olivia was always the favorite—which manifested as Abbie, Mally and Sarah all competing for her time and affection. Olivia has always been athletic, and surpassed Abbie, much to Abbie's chagrin, in gymnastic ability by age 8 (Abbie was 14). Abbie took that setback in stride, going on to write, direct, and co-star in an annual series of "plays" called Doctor's Office (inexplicably universally hated by their grandmother, aunts, uncles and parents), all of which showcased Olivia's actual prowess as a gymnast and Abbie's imagined ingenuity as a playwright.

Sally Case

Bridesmaid

Sally and Abbie may not see each other as often as they'd like these days (a reality of living on opposite coasts for nearly a decade), but they've always shared a deep bond and respect for each other, cracking each other up and catching up at each reunion as though no time has passed. As the only two McCoy women of their generation, their lives have always had uncanny parallels—from their extensive babysitting endeavors to their time dating ER doctors—and Abbie has looked up to Sally every step of the way.

Billy Zbienewtski

Groomsman

Billy is one of Andrew's older cousins, and is in fact the oldest cousin in the wedding party. Both Chaminade men and former scrawny kids, they share a love for cooking and fitness. In their younger years, they could frequently be found playing Sega Genesis together in the basement of their grandparents' Lake House or trying to catch fish off the dock of Lake Mohawk. Despite being late to the game in learning to play musical instruments, Andrew and Billy are the first in line at family parties to get the music going.

Sarah Feeser

Bridesmaid

Sarah and Abbie have always been close—spending arguably the most time together out of all their cousins growing up. Whether boating in Lady's Island, playing in the ocean at North Litchfield Beach, or shopping in NYC, they always have a blast together. As adults, Abbie has always made a point of traveling to Sarah's house for Thanksgiving—even when it falls on her birthday—and Sarah has made numerous trips to NYC to visit Abbie.

Jeff Gnerre

Groomsman

Andrew met Jeff, like all of his friends, at the lunch table—but this time, it was at their pre-orientation day for medical school. Andrew's first impression was, "I like this guy—he laughs at my jokes." They soon decided to become roommates. Much of those two years were spent playing Beatles Rockband, baseball on Xbox (since neither was athletic enough to play the real game), and exhaustively quoting South Park. Despite their busy work schedules, they still find time for weekends in the Catskills with the Stony Brook crew and fantasy football (aka Andrew loses his money to Jeff).

Allyson Smith

Bridesmaid

As with all great friendships, Allyson and Abbie met on craigslist. Abbie was looking for a new apartment, and Allyson needed a new roommate in her Midtown East walkup. They hit it off immediately, and although they only lived together for that one year, their friendship has continued - trips to Maine, the Catskills, skiiing in NJ... and they're only just getting started.

Emma Mazzei

Flower Girl

Emma is Andrew's niece and goddaughter. She was so excited to be born that she decided to come two months early, while Andrew and Abbie were on a trip in South Carolina. Nothing makes this girl happier than eating pasta and meatballs followed by a good nap. Abbie can't wait to officially become her aunt!
