In the summer of 2015, Abbie and Andrew had independently burned through everything passable that okCupid, PlentyofFish, and CoffeeMeetsBagel had to offer and decided to give Match.com a try. Within 48 hours of signing up, Abbie got a message from LIinNY87: "A Bill Murray fan? I met him at a college basketball game this year! That's my attempt to impress you :-p Anything fun planned for the 4th?" After several exchanged messages followed by a few days of texting, they met at a bar in Union Square. Two hours of laughter and conversation flew by, and both couldn't wait for a second date.

While they had been talking about rings and getting engaged for months, Andrew tried hard to surprise Abbie with his proposal. After securing her parents' blessing, Andrew decided to pop the question on their move-in day, Friday the 13th (yikes!). Ten hours, seven movers, 45 boxes, and a highly stressful sofa mishap (#RIP) later, Abbie and Andrew showered, dressed up and retreated to their new balcony as planned to toast to their achievement. While Abbie was getting ready, Andrew set up a table, chairs, champagne, and Abbie's favorite cheeses on the balcony. As they relaxed overlooking the Manhattan skyline, Andrew turned on speakers prepared with a special playlist he had created for the occasion. As each song passed, they reminisced about special moments in their relationship, until finally Andrew got down on one knee, and Abbie, thoroughly surprised, answered an enthusiastic “Yes!” to Andrew’s proposal.
