Hudson Valley Dining

120 Front Street, Newburgh, NY 12550

We hope you can join us for drinks from 7:30 - 9:30 on Friday night at Blu Pointe. For dinner beforehand, we recommend making a reservation either in the main dining room at Blu Pointe, at Heritage in Wappinger's Falls (about 25 mins from the welcome party), or a cute/trendy restaurant in Beacon (about 15 mins from the welcome party). These are all great Saturday lunch options as well!

Explore Bear Mountain State Park

US-9W, Bear Mountain, NY 10911

Every time we visit Garrison, we hit inexplicable "traffic" about 10 mins away. It always turns out to be visitors crossing Rte 202 on the Appalachian Trail. It looks beautiful and is extremely popular—give it a try for us!

Visit Dia:Beacon Museum

3 Beekman St, Beacon, NY 12508

If you, unlike Abbie, enjoy museums, you should go here - it seems very prestigious and Important.

Bannerman Castle

Pollepel Island, Beacon, NY 12508
, (845) 203-1316

We have not been here, but it seems cool! Bannerman Castle is an abandoned military surplus warehouse on a 6.5 acre island in the Hudson River. They host tours, movie nights, kayaking,

Storm King Art Center

1 Museum Road, New Windsor, NY 12553
, (845) 534-3115

This 500-acre outdoor museum (boasting "large-scale sculpture and site-specific commissions under open sky") is interesting enough even to entice Abbie. Definitely worth checking out if you have the time!

Tour West Point

2110 New South Post Rd, West Point, NY 10996

This is great for veterans or anyone interested in US military history. You can tour the campus, see the military museum, or stop in for lunch at the Thayer Hotel.

Breakneck Ridge Trail

Breakneck Ridge Trail, NY

People come from all over the Tri-State area to hike this trail, usually leading to an impressive traffic jam. Check out Trip Advisor for more info https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g47508-d8446775-Reviews-Breakneck_Ridge_Loop-Cold_Spring_New_York.html

Hudson River Expeditions

14 Market Street, Cold Spring, NY 10516
, 845.809.5935

If you enjoy rafting/canoeing/kayaking (looking at you Poole, Nichols, Trotter, Kelly and Collins families...) then you should definitely check these guys out. Upstate New York in July can be sunny and hot. This is a nice way to stay cool and have some fun!
