Ellen and Maddy met summer of 2020 in grad school when Maddy was assigned with teaching Ellen the ins and outs of the lab. Slowly their friendship grew, especially once Maddy realized Ellen was getting back into knitting. They really bonded during countless knit nights and venting sessions about grad school. Now, they own their own business together and still get together every Tuesday night.

Bridget Corcoran

Ellen and Bridget met during freshman year of high school in English class. They became fast friends, even after Mr. Sullivan had to put them on opposite sides of the room for talking too much. Ever since, Bridget has been a rock in Ellen's life. Through the constant highs and lows of life, Ellen has always known Bridget would be there for her. Now, they are both 2025 brides and getting to live out the dream of being each others maids of honor!

Nora Hibbard

Nora and Ellen first met in college on the Miami Dance Corp team, which led to them living together for a couple years post college. When Ellen first came out to Nora, her response was "oh I thought you knew?" dubbing her the queer fairy god mother and Ellen's go to person for relationship advice. Now, even though they no longer live together, they maintain their close friendship with spontaneous hang outs and getting lunch frequently since they now work together. Ellen owes meeting Abbey all to Nora since it was her birthday party at Tokyo Kitty where they met!

Nicole Bauer

Ellen met Nicole during her last year of grad school when she was teaching a lab course. Nicole introduced herself on the first day of class, letting Ellen know she would probably utilize her office hours. They quickly became friends throughout the class, with Nicole staying behind to gossip with Ellen. Once the semester was over, Ellen messaged Nicole on Instagram telling her they could ~officially~ become friends. Now, Nicole is Ellen's gym buddy as well as her go to person when she needs some positivity!

Ismail Abuzir

Ellen and Ismail met when they both worked at the Gap in Oakbrook Mall. They spent many shifts dealing with rude customers and refolding countless articles of clothing. When closing, they would bond over drama in their lives, school, pop culture, and everything else in between. Even though Ismail has moved plenty since then (due to him being the most amazing pilot ever), they still have stayed super close with an over 2,500 day snap streak!

Zach Tieke

Bridesman

Zach is Ellen's older brother, and even though they fought like siblings do growing up, they have grown closer as they've gotten older. When Ellen asked Zach if he would be comfortable being in the bridal party, he responded with an enthusiastic yes, telling her he will do whatever she wants. He has really gotten into the spirit of things, asking for wedding planning updates and being super on board for a bachelorette trip!

Ellen and Ali met when Zach and her first started dating in college. Ellen was super excited at the prospect of a new sister so much that she helped plan the proposal with Zach! Since they got married in 2019, Ali has always been the one to pick up Ellen's calls of distress no matter the time of day or night.
