We were both living and working in Boston at the time, both trying to do the online dating thing. February 8th, 2016 was a particularly snowy night. We found each other online, "swiped right" and started talking. Within an hour decided to meet up in the snow storm. Aayush drove through the snow and I made my way to Cambridge on the T. We met up, had dinner, couldn't stop talking....the rest is history!
We went to India together in 2017 to visit Aayush's family and friends. We got to explore New Delhi, Agra, Ambala, Chandigarh, and Amritsar. It was quite the adventure!
We welcomed a handsome and feisty kitten into our lives on Christmas 2018 after Jonah and Danielle found a lonely little kitten hiding in their shed. They offered to drive him up with them from North Carolina to Vermont for Christmas and we decided to adopt him. We have since learned he is a force to be reckoned with but he always keeps things interesting and he is handsome and soft so he gets to live rent-free in scenic Medford, Massachusetts with us for the time being.
Well, I am not as much into travel as Magen is. So, she usually just slaps me and drags me along. This time however I started liking going on vacation. I wonder if it was the time spent with beautiful Magen or if it was sloths. She said she is pretty sure it was the sloths. We got to feed some sloths in someone's backyard at one point which I think was the highlight of the trip. We loved our stay with a rainforest shower, the longest zipline in Latin America and beautiful hikes in cloud forests. We almost fell into a ditch while driving and drove through a river, but came back alive. That's all that matters right? I now love Costa Rica and want to go again. However, she is forcing me to go to South Africa and Mauritius instead for our honeymoon because you know who is the boss when it comes to travel :P
As many of you know I am cheap. So I decided to propose on Christmas Eve so that I could get away with one gift for Christmas and our Engagement Anniversary for the rest of our lives. In my defense, it's only fair because she gives me one gift for my Birthday and Christmas Eve (I was born on Christmas Eve for those who have not yet memorized my Birthday). That being said, on Christmas Eve 2020, there were many gift boxes and on that night one of them was slightly more special than the others. To make things more interesting, I wrapped it as special as I could. When she started opening it, she was surprised to find a box, in a box, in a box, and so on. After roughly 10 boxes (possibly a slight exaggeration) she almost gave up and then a ring popped up....it was not a ring pop just to be clear. I think she was surprised it was a real ring. I did not even get down on one knee, but everyone made me and the rest is history :P
