Blaine is Aaron's older brother and one of his favorite humans. Aaron looks up to him in many ways, not least because of his seemingly bottomless well of creativity, his magnetic charisma, and his enormously compassionate heart. He lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The First Friend. Sheena has been in Sheida’s life since the day Sheida was born. Sheena is like a sister and is always in Sheida's corner, encouraging her to be bold and adventurous (though sometimes that has meant having to be way too close to horses if you ask Sheida).
Judah Borda

Judah is one of Aaron's oldest friends. They met in the early 90s while living next-door to each other in Maryland, and thanks to a close bond between their families, they never lost touch. Judah currently lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Aysha Mahmood Khan
Bridesmaid
The Frequent Roomie. Sheida and Aysha were roommates for two years at Northwestern University with Hetal, then shared a studio in DC. As roommates they loved comparing vocab from different languages to find similarities, and ate far too many bowls of cereal as “dessert” when they were barely-paid interns. Aysha reminds Sheida to be her true self, and to let out her goofy side.

Aaron met Danny during middle school and they have been good friends ever since. Danny introduced Aaron to spicy papaya salad, break dancing, and DDR. He lives in Urbana, Maryland.
Stephanie Nitahara

The Long-Distance Friend. Stephanie and Sheida met in high school and owe thanks to gchat which has helped keep them connected as each moved to the coasts and away from home. Each has been a support system for the other, especially as they transitioned into the working world. Stephanie reminds Sheida to advocate for herself and those she cares about.
David Newrock
Groomsman
Aaron and David shared first period English in 6th grade and immediately bonded over a mutual love of disrupting the classroom. They shared many Dr. Bob-fueled all-nighters during high school, playing computer games and watching anime. David lives in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
Hetal Patel
Bridesmaid
The Childhood Friend. Friends since 1st grade, they challenged each other on the playground and classroom and across the years, until they no longer shared classes. That all changed when they ran into each other while moving into the Northwestern dorms, and subsequently lived together with Aysha for two years. She challenges Sheida to be honest with her thoughts, and teaches her important phrases like, “la danza del polpo morto.”
Justin Wiseman

Aaron met Justin in middle school and was immediately astonished by his love of Britney Spears and extensive collection of over-sized Dragonball Z shirts. They have maintained a strong friendship ever since, and Justin even welcomed Aaron as a roommate for over a year. He lives in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
Ambar Rizwan

The Twin. Ambar and Sheida met in high school, and since then, the two have been mistaken as one another on numerous occasions. Ambar challenges Sheida to think with her heart more and is always ready to lend an ear and a helping hand. Like Hetal, you will find her on the dance floor.
