Travel Note
While it is generally very easy to get between the coastal cities (Carlsbad, San Diego, La Jolla, etc.), there is quite a bit of traffic at certain parts of the day. Since the wedding is on a weekday near rush hour, please be sure to leave ample time for driving to the venue.
Flight
San Diego's airport is fairly easy to get in and out of, and the closest to the venue. Carlsbad is about forty minutes north of San Diego, so you will likely have to rent a car if you fly in.
Flight
If you're not flying in to San Diego, John Wayne in Santa Ana is the next closest. It's small and casual—Mina's favorite, if you can have a favorite airport. Rental cars are easily accessible here too.
Train
Mina used to take this train all the time in college. It runs from Los Angeles to San Diego multiple times each day and is an affordable option for those flying into Santa Ana or LAX.
Hotel
Located in the Point Loma area of San Diego, the Pearl Hotel is surrounded by great food and things to do. While there are certainly closer spots to stay, the Pearl allows you to enjoy San Diego in a way that the quieter beach towns can't offer.
Hotel
The Brick Hotel is about 15-20 minutes away from the Old Rancho Estate! Oceanside is a sleepy, relaxed beach town, so this is a good option if you want to chill.
Hotel
This is the closest hotel to the venue, but also the priciest on the list. Lots of family members are staying here, so it would be a super easy carpool option!
