Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Mina de Guia and Alessandra Cole
These are some of our favorite places in the San Diego area. You'll discover that Carlsbad, La Jolla, and San Diego proper are pretty close together, so it's easy to jump around to each city.

Tecolote Canyon Trail

Tecolote Canyon Trail, San Diego, CA

This is where we went for our first date! In the spring and summer, it is full of flowery nature brought to life by the rain. It's a great place to go birding too! —M&A

La Jolla Tide Pools

303 Coast Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92037

Enjoy a mellow walk along the beach in La Jolla, one of my favorite places from living in San Diego. Come at low tide to look at crabs, anemone, and other marine critters, or just enjoy the soothing waves. —A

Pannikin Coffee & Tea

510 North Coast Highway 101, Encinitas, CA 92024

A forever favorite coffee shop in the cutest yellow building. —M

Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve

12600 North Torrey Pines Road, La Jolla, CA 92037

A popular hike spot that is not overhyped. There are a few trails of varying difficulties, combining the eponymous pines, classic scrubland environment I love so much, and beautiful views of the Pacific. —A

Tajima Ramen North Park

3015 Adams Avenue, San Diego, CA 92116

We have been on countless dates here! We still talk about their Tonkotsu ramen. Yum. —M

Polite Provisions

4696 30th Street, San Diego, CA 92116

One of our favorite bars in San Diego. The "Casual Encounter" was A's favorite drink! The atmosphere is intimate and unique with an apothecary theme. —M&A

Communal Coffee

2335 University Avenue, San Diego, CA 92104

This coffee shop was a block away from A's first apartment in the city. I love the rose vanilla latte and overpriced avocado toast. No really, I do. —M

Tribute Pizza

3077 North Park Way, San Diego, CA 92104

We've been here a ridiculous amount of times. Great, creative pizza and a fun atmosphere! Tucked right in North Park, it's the perfect lunch or dinner spot after browsing Verbatim Books or Pigment. —M

Nomad Donuts

3102 University Avenue, San Diego, CA 92104

The donuts here are great, but it's the Montreal-style bagels that I really love (and miss every day). —A

Kindred

1503 30th Street, San Diego, CA 92102

A vegan restaurant that blew my mind. Go with an open mind! It is insanely delicious and their cocktails are awesome. —M

Native Poppy

3009 Grape Street, San Diego, CA 92102

Native Poppy made me want to be a florist. I loved their bright, playful arrangements and it's still one of my favorite flower shops! —M

Verbatim Books

3793 30th Street, San Diego, CA 92104

A bookstore that we loved when we lived in San Diego! We still visit it every time we return. Old and used books, plus some fun rare ones and local art. Grab a coffee at Dark Horse and browse their extensive collection. —M&A
