25 minutes away. Drive in movie under the stars! They usually show two movies, there are two screens so you can pick from four movies. Don't forget your radio.
Forest Park
30 minutes away. Most of the attractions in Forest Park are free. There are history and art museums, the world-renowned free zoo, golf course, boathouse, recreation opportunities, etc. Alex and Kaitlyn like Art Hill best (near the zoo and art museum).
Union Station and St. Louis Aquarium
25 minutes away. Aquarium, Highropes Adventure Park, Restaurants, Ferris Wheel, hourly pyrotechnics show.
Busch Stadium

Salt Lick Trailhead
20 minutes away. Best hiking trail in the area with a view of the bluffs. There's an additional trailhead here that is more level called the Newman Trail.
Fults Hill Prairie Nature Preserve Parking
35 minutes away. Another great hike by the bluffs, the prairie here is worth the hike. There are a lot of stairs on this hike.
Illinois Caverns State Natural Area
25 minutes away. Free. Check the hours and rules, you need three light sources per person and at least four people in order to enter the cave. You will walk through standing water. Hardhats are provided in the caverns office. Calling them is recommended in case the website doesn't have up-to-date info.
Giant City State Park
2 hours away. Amazing hiking trails near SIU Carbondale.
