Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Semi-formal attire. The bridesmaids will wear light green and the groomsmen are in tan, so consider a different color so we can differentiate the wedding party from the other guests. Consider wearing something colorful! A long or short cocktail dress or a button down and tie with slacks/dress pants is appropriate. Our wedding colors are green, purple, orange, and yellow if you want to try to match them.

Is your wedding Memorial Day?

Answer

Our wedding weekend is actually the weekend AFTER Memorial Day weekend! Memorial Day is May 25th, and we will be married on the 30th.

Question

Do you accept gifts?

Answer

Yes and no. Since we are moving across the country to California, it is complicated to bring gifts with us! Please no physical gifts at this time. Consider giving us a cash gift or contributing to one of our funds in the registry tab. We are using Zola for our registry. If you have more questions, there is more of an explanation under the registry tab.

Question

Can I bring additional guests?

Answer

RSVP by clicking the "RSVP" tab, or through the card that was mailed to some guests. Due to our seating plans, please bring only the guests assigned to you. We’re sticking to our original guest list to ensure our wedding day runs smoothly. Thank you for understanding.

Question

What does "cocktail hour" entail?

Answer

Turner Hall will open for a cocktail hour at 5pm. The bar is open and there will be indoor yard games set up. Complimentary drinks are provided, while other beverages are available for purchase (cash). Please take this time to sign our guestbook, find your table, play a game, and visit with others. There are no appetizers at this time, but you may bring in a snack for small children. There is a park with a playground outside the venue for more activities for children, just don't miss our grand entrance!

Question

What is parking like?

Answer

At St. Paul's Lutheran Church, there are upper and lower parking lots. We ask that you reserve the upper circle drive parking lot for our guests with mobility or accessibility needs. Simply drive past the church on Goodhaven, turn left, go down the hill, and enter the lower lot. There are a few accessible parking spots in the lower lot as well as a lift from the basement to the main floor where the ceremony will be. At Turner Hall, there is a large parking lot with ample parking. Three accessible spaces are available.

Question

What's for dinner? Cash bar or complimentary?

Answer

We are still finalizing the drink menu, but a buffet will be served of fried chicken, mostaccioli, mashed potatoes with gravy, corn, green beans, salad or coleslaw, and bread and butter catered by Turner Hall. Complimentary drink choices are lemonade, tea, and coffee. At the bar, our complimentary drink choices include soda, beer on draft, Carbliss, and our signature drinks. Other beverages are available for purchase (bring cash). Around 9-10pm, snacks will be offered. If you have any dietary restrictions, the venue allows you to bring in food (this includes snacks for small children).

Where are good places to stay the night?

Answer

Please visit the "travel and lodging" tab for ideas of where to stay and for our hotel courtesy block and discount code. Columbia is right next to St. Louis.
