Michael Thomas and I met online. He popped up on my profile with a picture of him and his beautiful niece, as he was visiting his sister who lives a few miles away from me. We started talking about the most random things. The first of which was, of course, why did he have "I'm in the Navy, but I hate going into the ocean" as his introduction on his profile? From there we spoke of dragons and candy, work and school, magic and dreams of the future. We didn't meet in person until a few months after first messaging each other. Our first date was awful. We met up at In'n'Out after I had spent a full day of working at the clinic and helping a friend coach her cheerleading team. I was tired, sweaty and all I wanted was some fries and a milkshake. So we finally meet in person, and it was awkward. Let's just say he said something about congealing milkshakes as I'm drinking my milkshake and a few other awkward comments. Conversation was stilted. That evening ended very quickly. We decided to try one more date to see if that was a just a fluke. It was. Our second date ended with a midnight kiss. Four years later, he proposed, Atticus joined our family, I finished physical therapy school, and we're getting married! So many fun and crazy adventures thrown in there. We can't wait to see what the rest of our lives holds!
New Year's Eve! Oh em gee! I can’t believe that I get to spend the rest of my life with my best friend and the most incredible person on the planet. I finally succeeded in tricking her into marrying me! Muahaha! What a crazy day... My mind had been racing around at a million miles an hour for weeks. To take the ring back for something she “prefer” or just get on with it as planned and give her what was special from my heart. I chose the latter! (By the way I love the original ring he chose--Sam) No thanks to Jankie’s untimely engagement which set things back a couple of weeks hahah... But as I was saying, a million miles an hour... I truly had no idea what I was going to say, but as long as it included her full name I was sure the response would be favorable! After a few minutes of delaying the inevitable down at the beach (Santa Monica Pier) I just dropped to one knee and went with it. I mean she couldn’t turn down my charm no matter what I said ;). So I did it, she said yes, making me the happiest man in the world and now on to the rest of our lives! Still a long way to go before the wedding but I can’t wait for every minute of it. I love you with all my heart and am forever yours!
