The Colorado Chautauqua, located in Boulder, Colorado, United States, and started in 1898, is the only Chautauqua west of the Mississippi River still continuing in unbroken operation since the heyday of the Chautauqua Movement in the 1920s. Only an hour north of Boulder and half n hour from Lyons, Estes Park is a beautiful mountain town that any out of town guests should check out. There is a wonderful downtown strip with lots of fun shops and restaurants. Feeling adventurous? There are dozens of hiking trails and a Gondola Ride option. Fan of Stephen King? The Stanley Hotel is on the north side of town. If you're looking for a beautiful drive, we recommend going the longer route and through Allens Park - it takes about half n hour longer but is very much worth the time.
