I met Shannon on the first day of kindergarten, when she asked me if she could look at shells under a magnifying glass with me. She then told me that her mom gave her a homework assignment to make a friend, and asked if I would be her friend. From that day on, we were attached at the hip. We spent the greater part of our childhood going through phases, from littlest pet shop to lilo and stitch, and every young adult book series we could get our hands on. I’m so excited and honored to be a part of this amazing wedding - congratulations to the Burt’s!

Best Man
As Matt’s younger brother, I gained the title of Best Man. Despite living halfway across the country from each other, I am always offering up new breweries for Matt and Shannon to try on their crazy life adventures. The best thing that both of us share is our love for beer, cheese and Green Bay Packer football.

Shannon & I met when I joined the town's local 4-H club in middle school, where we would show cows at county fairs. Right away I knew Shannon had the spunk & sense of humor that would make us fast friends. Within months I learned we had a few things in common: we never refused a chocolate chip stick for breakfast, we didn't mind getting a little dirty, & we were thrilled with a birthday dinner at Wendy's. In years to come, we would find ourselves sleeping in treehouses, going into any mosh pit we could find, & becoming part of the Royal Garden midnight crowd because we could. Since then, Shannon has proven to be the life of the party, the shoulder to lean on, & the most trustworthy friend in the world. I am so psyched & honored to be standing next to her wedding day. Here's to the Burts!!

I met Burt playing frisbee in Tampa years ago. It wasn't until we spent more time together that we both realized that our interests weren't just shared on the field, but in our love for the Packers, Bayern Munich, and of course beer.

"Shannon & I met in 4th grade, after our brothers became friends. What started as our families hanging out became the best friendship. We started in 4H together, at the barn each weekend and spending summers at the fair. My best memories are of “girlfriend weekend” in Maine each summer & our Sushi Joy dates where the waitress learned our orders. Shannon is the kind of friend who will sit & read in quiet peace with you, but also turn into her adventurous outgoing self that brought a shy 12 year old me out of her shell. Each time I’m with Shannon we always pick right back up. From Nashville with the moms, to Maine trips where I’ve gotten to know & love Matt, I’m excited to be a part of her wedding in October & for all our future adventures to come."

Hey all! My name is Nirav and I met Matt and Shannon at The Florida Aquarium. Matt was the guy that took care of all my signage needs without work orders. As a thank you, I was Matt for Halloween one year. Won the company costume contest for that!

At my birthday party back in the 4th grade a random girl came up to me and gave me a ladybug necklace. Turns out, that random girl came because she was best friends with my friend Tori. I can’t remember exactly when we saw each other next, but pretty soon we were helping each other put on our swim caps, shoveling cow crap, and tapping our front tooth at each other in a lake in Maine. Middle school and high school was filled with similar activities and going off to college didn’t change anything. We had group video chats during the semester, Friendsgivings and Secret Santas over the holidays, and of course Maine in the summers. Shannon and I are still the friends in our group furthest from home, but no matter what we always prioritize seeing each other and our friendship never changes.

Hi! My name is Connor. Shannon's youngest brother. I currently reside in New York City. I met Matt after him and Shannon started dating. It has been a pleasure to see their friendship and love grow and flourish over time, and I can't wait to get down to Asheville to celebrate and welcome Matt into the family.

I am lucky enough to not only call Shannon my sister-in-law, but a friend and confidante. Shannon is the kindest, most genuine, and giving person you could be lucky enough to have in your corner. My favorite memory of Shannon is when she sewed a rip in my wedding dress minutes before I walked down the aisle - she is calm, cool, and collected and always has your back. I am so excited to be a part of her wedding day and can’t wait to celebrate the future Burt’s!!

My name is Michael Seigfried, one of Shannon's older (and coolest) brothers, I live in Kingston, MA with my wife, Brianna, and our dog, Blue. I know Matt thru Shannon, and have spent plenty of time trying different beers and playing Super Smash Brothers together, and I am looking forward to welcoming another brother into the family! Matt and I spent a lot of time working together over the past year, as Matt was integral in designing Bri and I's wedding invitations and groomsmen gifts.

Shannon and I are sister-in-laws, but right from the get go she always felt like a sister. I’ve been around in the family for a while now, so I’ve been able to see Shannon blossom from a teen to an amazing beautiful woman. She’s adventurous and spontaneous and I admire her for having that travel bug and just picking up and going. I’m excited for her new adventure in marriage and thankful to be able to be a part of it!

I met Matt a few years ago shortly after he and my sister, Shannon started dating. Their natural chemistry and shared love of travel made it easy to see how great they are for each other. I'm eager to welcome another brother into this crazy family and another role model for my son Quinton (who absolutely adores Matt). I'm excited for both of you and all that your future together brings!
